Netscape Messenger E-mail Configuration
|
| 1) Assuming you are running Netscape v4.0 or greater, pull down the Edit
menu to Preferences. |
 |
| 2) A new window will appear entitled Preferences. On the far left of this
window is a white box with the header Category on top. The purpose of
this display is to allow the user to choose which Preferences section he or she
wishes to edit. In this case we are interested in the Mail &
Newsgroups section. So now click on the '+' sign next to this heading. In
order to configure Netscape for e-mail, we only need to modify items in the
'Identity', and 'Mail Server' headers.
|
 |
| 3) Click on Identity. The
rest of the window will change to show you the items that can be edited under
the Identity header.
|
 |
| 4) Finally, click on Mail
Server in the far left box. The rest of the window will change to show items
required so you can receive e-mail. Press the Add button in the
incoming mail servers section and enter mail.rlc.net for the server
name, then change the server type to POP3. When asked for
user name enter everything before the @ sign in your e-mail
address.
|
 |
| 5) Make sure that have
the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server is set to mail.rlc.net and the Outgoing
mail server username is set to everything before the @ sign in your e-mail. And
you are done. |
